SHOW US YOUR LIFE - Wedding Party and Flowers/Ceremony

This week on Kelly's blog is showing your wedding party and flowers.
Andy & I got married on September 6, 2008. Our wedding and reception were held outside and we couldn't have been any luckier with the weather.  We both wanted an outdoor wedding and we found the most beautiful location. Our wedding was at 530 in the evening. We had two lovely violin players. The parents walked down to "In My Place " by Coldplay, the bridal party walked to "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton, I walked down the  isle alone to Canon in D (the song still brings a tear to my eye!). Our ceremony was everything I wanted it to be. It was so hard to hold the tears back, but I think I did ok :) Once the ceremony was over everyone walked back down the isle to "Wonderwall" by Oasis. The music was so fun to pick out. Now on to the pictures!
Here are my flowers. My cousin and I did them. I ordered the roses and daisy's from an online flower wholesaler and the berries and hydrangeas were from my yard. I loved (and still do) how they turned out. I thought they were unique and different.
Off to the bridal party:
L-R: Kristen is my cousin's wife, I feel like I have known her forever. Steph is a friend I met through my other friend Bobby (its his sister in law). We became really close when she and her husband lived with Bobby while house hunting. Next is my maid of honor Lauren. Lauren and I have been best friends for many many years. We went middle and high school together. We did not like each other for the first year or two then we became inseparable.  She has been dating my brother for the last 6 years (they can get married any day now please!), she also has a 7 year old son so I adore, Logan. Next is me. Then there is Heather. Heather and I met in college. We are both sign language interpreters. She moved to Nashville, TN after we graduated. It is wonderful to have a great friend in the same business so we can support each other and be mentors to each other. Last is my cousin Mollie. We grew up together and were super close. (She is a hair dresser- her looks change all the time, and had no idea what her hair would look like the day of but I love it!)
The guys:
L-R: Tony is Andy's cousin. Co-Best man David. David is my brother. I am so lucky to have my husband and my brother be so close. Andy. The other best man Bobby. Andy met Bobby through my brother. I have known him since I was a born (our grandparents were friends). Next is Andy's cousin Allen followed by Andy's brother Cody (who decided to buzz all his hair off the day before!)
Here is a fun picture of our wedding party

If you get married on a golf course you can't forget about a pic on a golf cart!
I'd say we were one good looking group!
Thanks for checking out my flowers and party! Next week is reception and honeymoon!

Thrift Store Finds

Since it was a rainy day I decided to go to the thrift store after my cardio class. I came back home with some great things and I only spent $9 =).
Here is what I got. When I saw the green pitcher I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. The other things I am still trying to figure out where I want them.
Here is the green vase in the foyer with the hydrangeas from my yard.

Home Tour Tuesdays: Foyer/Office

Continuing on my home tour, today is the foyer and office. This is the view from the front door.
The color isn't as green as it shows in pictures.
The plan is for the husband to build a bench like this to go under the mirror.
We also want to get a new table for under the window. We were thinking a old, rustic piece.
Here is the office.
He's a computer guy so he has the double monitors.
Thanks for checking it out! Next week is the dining room!

Show us your life-Wedding Dress

I have been a follower of Kelly's Korner for a while now and today is show off your wedding dress. Check out her blog to see her's and all the other beautiful ladies dresses.
Our wedding was only a short 8 months ago but after being together for 7 years it  all kind of blends together. Our day was beautiful and I really couldn't have asked for anything else. Here is my dress. I actually bought it off of another bride from TheKnot.com. I got it for a steal at $350, and all I had to do was take it in just a little bit and thats it.
My dress was ivory with a champagne colored sash
I loved my bustle.
Nothing to do with my dress but my husband wanted to wear his
flip flops for the wedding (all of the groomsmen did also). I think this was one of the things he was so excited for =)
I was brave and bought this dress without even trying it on, but I thought it was perfect once I got it. Thanks for checking it out!

Home Tour Tuesdays: Outside

I've decided to start posting about my house every Tuesday. This week we are going to start on the outside of the house then work our way in as the weeks go on.
Welcome to our home :)
Our house was built in 1886 and is part of the historic homes in our city.It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1500 square foot home.
We lucked out and got a double lot. It's pretty rare in our city too.

My husband loves to landscape, I think he does a pretty good job =)

You can see my green bug :)
Our backyard is my favorite part, it's very quiet and gets some shade in the afternoon.

My favorite place to eat dinner on nice cool nights. Also you can see my favorite flowers (hydrangeas), that I used in my wedding bouquet.
Next week we will walk through the door to see the foyer and the office! Thanks for checking it out!

makeover!

Not that my blog looked bad before but I thought maybe if I give it a face lift I will post more (lets hope :) ). While reading other blogs I came across this site. She has THE cutest backgrounds, headers and much more for your blog. So while the husband was watching a movie, I updated the blog. I think I might keep this layout for a while cause I think the bird is just too cute at the top :)

Hi..I'm still here!

I have not blogged in so long and really I have no excuse. I'm off in the summer and I've been busy with working out and going to the pool. Rough life I know! Summer has been great so far but it is slowly coming to an end. I found out my student next year is a football player so I will be at practices starts Aug 4. I am looking forward to the extra cash and am already of thinking of what to reward myself with =) (I've been thinking of  this)

Back in June we took a trip to fabulous Las Vegas. I loved it there! It was Andy's second time and my first. He really enjoyed showing me all around town. I also have a friend that lives out there so it was awesome to see her and her cute little family! We are really feeling the itch to head back out to sin city.

I promise to keep up on my blogging!
